We reviewed 27 recorded porta potty rental calls this year. Many were handled by a call center that books for several companies at once. The same objections came up again and again: surprise fees, unclear delivery times, and "who is actually bringing this?" These 10 questions come straight from those calls. Ask them of any company, including us.
callers pushed back on price or compared quotes. The most common surprise was tax and fees added after the first number. Several callers also asked which company would actually deliver.

Ask who owns the porta potty and whose truck delivers it. Some websites are booking services that pass your order to whichever local company has a unit free. In the 27 calls we reviewed, callers noticed when a unit arrived with a different company's name on it. A local owner controls the truck, the schedule and the cleaning.
Brandon Rental Works owns every unit and runs every route from 302 Dallas Dr in Denton. When you call (940) 275-3799, you reach the people who load the trucks. Ask any company for a street address, not just a phone number.
2. Is that the all-in price, with delivery, pickup and tax?
Ask whether the porta potty price includes delivery, pickup, setup, toilet paper, sanitizer and sales tax. In Denton, sales tax is 8.25%. A quote that leaves out delivery or tax can look lower and end up higher. Ask for the final total in writing before you give a card number.
Our event price includes delivery, pickup, setup, toilet paper and sanitizer. The written quote shows the tax line too. See the porta potty rental cost guide for typical ranges by unit.
3. Are there fuel, card or weekend fees?
Ask about fuel surcharges, card fees and weekend fees before you book a porta potty. In our review of 27 rental calls, the most common price surprise was tax and fees added after the first quote. Brandon Rental Works adds no fuel surcharge and no card fee. Saturday is a normal workday for our trucks.
4. Is there a same-day or rush fee?
Ask whether a same-day or rush porta potty delivery adds a fee, and how much. At Brandon Rental Works, same-day delivery is available when you call by 12:00 noon, Monday through Saturday, in Denton and most Denton County ZIPs. A same-day fee may apply depending on route. We quote that fee before you book.
Same-day stock is standard units and hand-wash stations. Deluxe, accessible and trailer units are usually next-day. If a company quotes same-day on every unit type, ask how.
5. What is the delivery window, and will the driver call?
Ask for the porta potty delivery window and whether the driver calls ahead. Delivery time was one of the most-asked questions in the calls we reviewed. Brandon Rental Works gives a 4-hour window, and the driver calls or texts about 30 minutes before arrival. Nobody needs to be home if the spot is marked.
Also ask: what happens if the driver cannot place the unit? A locked gate or blocked path can mean a trip fee. Our placement guide shows how to prevent that.
6. Do I pay for the extra days if you drop it off early?
Ask whether an early drop-off or a Monday pickup adds rental days to your porta potty bill. At Brandon Rental Works, a party rental is one flat price for 1–5 days on site. A Saturday party unit usually arrives Thursday or Friday and leaves Monday, and the extra days are free.
The full reasoning is in why a Saturday party unit arrives Friday.
7. What is the cancellation and date-change policy?
Ask for the porta potty cancellation policy in writing, because policies vary a lot between companies. At Brandon Rental Works, cancelling 24 hours or more before delivery gets a full refund. Inside 24 hours, we refund everything except the delivery fee. Same-day orders already dispatched are not refundable. Date changes are free with 24 hours notice.
In the calls we reviewed, cancellation rules ranged from 24 hours to 72 hours, and one used a sliding 50% refund. Ask the question even if you are sure of the date. Weather moves outdoor parties.
8. How often is the porta potty serviced, and is it included?
Ask how often the porta potty is serviced and whether service is included in the price. Brandon Rental Works event units arrive pumped, sanitized and stocked, and a 1–3 day party needs no mid-event service. Jobsite units get weekly service included in the 28-day rate. Extra visits are available on request.
A service visit should include pumping, scrubbing, sanitizing and restocking, plus a dated ticket on the door. Ask what the visit includes, not just how often it happens.
9. Is it billed by the month or every 28 days? Is there a contract?
Ask whether a long-term porta potty is billed by calendar month or every 28 days, and whether a contract is required. Brandon Rental Works bills every 28 days, starting on the drop-off day, with weekly service included. There is no contract. The rental auto-renews until you call for pickup, scheduled within 1–2 business days.
Twenty-eight-day billing means 13 cycles a year, not 12. It is a common billing cycle, but it should be stated up front. Remodel owners can read more in porta potty for a home remodel.
10. What do you need from me: payment, billing ZIP and site access?
Ask what the porta potty company needs to finish the booking. Expect the delivery address or a map pin, the dates, the unit count, the exact spot, gate codes, and a card whose billing ZIP matches your bank's records. In our review, 4 of 27 callers had a card declined over a wrong billing ZIP.
callers had a card decline because the billing ZIP did not match. Use the ZIP your card company has on file, or pay through a secure online invoice link.

What do good and bad answers sound like?
Good porta potty answers are specific: a named company, a street address, a written total with tax, a 4-hour window and a written cancellation rule. Bad answers are vague: "we have different locations", "tax and fees are extra", or "last unit, book now". Use the table below to score any quote in 5 minutes.
| Question | Good answer | Red flag |
|---|---|---|
| Who delivers? | Our trucks, from our yard at a street address | "One of our partners" |
| All-in price? | Written total with tax | "Plus taxes and fees" |
| Extra fees? | Named and priced before you pay | Fuel or card fee on the invoice |
| Delivery time? | 4-hour window plus a heads-up text | "Sometime that day" |
| Cancellation? | Written rule with an hour count | "Call us and we'll see" |
| Service? | Frequency and what each visit includes | "As needed" |
| Billing? | 28-day cycle, no contract, call to stop | Unclear end date |
